Time is running out. The Evening Star is storming the gates. If the artifact falls into the wrong hands, it could mean the downfall of other preserves and possibly the world. Will Kendra learn to use her fairy gifts in time? Will Seth stay out of trouble? Can they overcome paralyzing fear? Find out in book two of this bestselling series

**Please Note: this is the second book in a series and this review may contain spoilers for the first book

The Fablehaven series was recommended to me by a couple of friends who have the same tastes in books and tv shows as I do, so I decided to add it to my reading list for this year.
I had time at the end of December to read the first book and was just able to get to the second one this month. I enjoyed reading it so much that I finished it in less than a week.
I loved the first book but I loved this one even more. I think I always enjoy the second book in a series more because the first books usually spend a lot of time setting the stage for the entire series.
In the first book I found Seth to be a bit of an annoying character even though a lot of his actions did push the story along. However, even though he still didn't entirely learn from his mistakes, he was a lot more of an enjoyable character in this book. Even very heroic at times.
I loved getting to know Kendra better and enjoyed her points of view the most. I also enjoyed meeting all of the new characters. When ever I meet with my friends, they go on and on about how Warren is their favorite literary character. So I'm most looking forward to getting to know him better.
I also love that you have to spend most of the story wondering who you can trust and who might be betraying Fablehaven. The kind of story that keeps you guessing are my favorite kinds of stories.
I've only just read the first two books but I have a feeling this is going to be a new favorite series. I'm looking forward to reading the next book and finding out more about the powers that Kendra has acquired.
If you love a good, clean, fun fantasy novel with action, twists and turns, and humor then I would highly recommend this one.

Have you read this book? What did you think? Let me know down in the comments.
